Earlier this week, we saw Dakota Johnson turn up the heat on monochromatic dressing at the Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood dinner in Los Angeles. The Fifty Shades of Grey actress practically sizzled in a cinnamon-colored tunic and trouser set by Jitrois. But Johnson knows how to go cool and casual too. Case in point: The look she threw on yesterday for a leisurely stroll with her beloved dog, Zeppelin.
Johnson wore a menswear-inspired button-down in sky blue, a classic shirting statement that seemed as if it could have been lifted from her on-screen love interest Christian Grey’s closet. With the sleeves cuffed at the elbow and the hem left untucked, the overall effect was fun and easy. Johnson kept the light blue palette going down to cropped skinnies, offsetting the billowy silhouette up top. Her favorite Gucci loafers with turn-key detail lent additional borrowed-from-the boys polish, while a utilitarian cross-body bag on one shoulder was the ideal accessory for on the go. Even Zeppelin got in on the fashion action, sporting a chocolate brown lead that tied in nicely with Johnson’s tortoiseshell frames.
